IN BRIEF | Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia passengers departing Dunedin Airport can now relax in a new, modern lounge space with twice as much seating as the lounge that preceded it.
Found on the upper floor of the airport terminal, there’s room for over 120 guests across a range of zones catering for dining, working and relaxing, aside self-service food and beverage stations.
“Dunedin is a key port on Air New Zealand’s domestic network and we look forward to welcoming customers to enjoy this new facility,” said Air New Zealand General Manager Customer Experience, Anita Hawthorne.
AirNZ’s Gold, Elite and Elite Priority One members are welcome in the airline’s new Dunedin lounge, along with Virgin Australia Velocity Gold, Platinum and The Club cardholders prior to Air New Zealand and Air New Zealand Link flights to Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.
The same travellers can also visit the lounge prior to Virgin Australia international flights from Dunedin to Brisbane, with the addition of Virgin Australia business class passengers: just allow extra time to clear passport control, as the lounge is in the terminal’s ‘domestic’ zone.
Also invited are paid-up lounge members belonging to the Air New Zealand Koru Club and Virgin Australia Lounge schemes ahead of Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia flights, plus Star Alliance Gold, Air Canada Maple Leaf Club and United Club members prior to AirNZ flights only.
Dunedin's new lounge follows similar openings for the airline in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland, among other locations.

Well overdue. Hope the previously very limited food and beverage options are improved.

Hi Chris, I hope you can update this story. Air NZ lounge does not open for the Dunedin-Brisbane flight. It only opens 1 hr prior to their own AirNZ service to Christchurch. They obviously do not care about their partner service which they codeshare!
