Cathay Pacific debuts new business class amenity kits

Cathay Pacific is rolling out new amenity kits for business class travellers this month, with Australian natural skincare brand Jurlique scoring a starring role.

The men's and women's pouches also get a refresh, although they're still designed by agnès b, Cathay's partner since 2007 and one reason why cast-off CX amenity kit bags are a hit with many young women.

(And with their bold stripes and bright colours making a change from the darker tones of the previous agnès b kits, we think these new bags will be even more popular.)

Among the Jurlique skincare products included in the kits are a Day Cream, Citrus Hand Cream and Lip Care Balm.

Cathay is also packaging different products for inbound and outbound flights, using Hong Kong as the point of reference.

On outbound flights the amenity kits will include a Balancing Day Care Cream, with inbound legs seeing a Moisture Replenishing Day Cream.

The disposable toothbrush and shoehorn (the latter is supplied only in the men's kits) are both made mainly from biodegradable corn starch and cellulose.

This is about amenity kits, not dresses - I fail to see why you are so interested in the hem.

Do people really use shoe horns? And why do amenities kits never include the three things (apart from moisturiser and toothbrush) that you really need on a flight - deoderant, saline nose spray and eye drops.

I use a shoe horn every morning putting on my shoes for work and would love a travel sized one.

I have no need for nose spray or eye drops and have my own deodorant so those items would be useless for me.

To each his/her own.

Well obviously I have my own deoderant too! It would just be nice to get an amenities kit that meant I didn't have to pack my own - otherwise it's kind of pointless. And if you haven't yet got into eye drops and a saline nose spray on long flights, you should - keeping your mucous membranes lubricated in the dry, dry airplane air really makes an enormous difference to how you feel at the end of a long flight.
