Status match on Qatar?

I'm QFF Platinum and have flights booked with Qatar in July transiting through Doha. I just read that although Qatar is a Oneworld member, they don't extend lounge access as part of the agreement. Does anyone have experience with status match at Qatar? Or any other experience getting around this would be appreciated!

You are not entirely correct about lounge access at Doha airport. True, you’ll only get access to the Al Mourjan and Al Safwa lounges at Doha if you’re flying Business Class and First Class, respectively, on Qatar Airways. You will, however, have access to the Qatar Airways “First Class Lounge” as a Oneworld Emerald. Not a great lounge, by all accounts, but it is a lounge and you’ll have access to it.

Not even a status match will get you access to Al Safwa and Al Mourjan lounges, however, unless you’re flying First or Business class.

You can pay extra for access the more premium lounges. The Al Safwa Lounge has bedrooms, so worth the extra if you have a long layover and want a proper en-suite bedroom.
