I have searched the forum but nothing exactly answers my question:
I want to fly PER-->MNL in BC in Feb. Both Saver and Advantage awards are "waitlist". Does it make any difference whether I choose Saver or Advantage to my chances of getting the seat? Similarly if I book an econ award seat as my backup on the same flight, should I choose Saver or Advantage to give me the best chance of the BC award coming through (both Saver and Advantage are avail in economy). Many thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply, I acknowledge the pecking order, as I'm only General Krisflyer I was asking what waitlist I should be on to give me the best chance, ie should I book Saver or Advantage waitlist?
Singapore Airlines keeps its cards very close to its chest when it comes to waitlisted awards and how they work. But it wouldn’t make any sense for Singapore to clear Saver waitlisted awards before Advantage ones, so I would expect Advantage awards to have a better chance of clearing.
There’s a reputable Singapore-based blogger called the “Milelion” who wrote a comprehensive article about how waitlisted awards work a week or so ago. It might be worth reading if you want to know more.

KrisFlyer elite members receive priority in clearing the waitlist. The order of preference is as follows:

Thank you Sibelius, how do I find the Milelion article (sorry for my ineptness!)? What you say makes sense.
