I have been trying to book a Skywards rewards flight from Singapore to Melbourne for June 2023. EK don't appear to be flying routes out of Australia to Asia using their own aircraft, instead totally code sharing with QF. The issue is, at this time, I can only find one weekly service that EK are code sharing on QF metal, and this is a Tuesday flight, which does not suit me. Does anyone have knowledge about when EK may resume operating Australia-Asia services with their own equipment?
The DXB-Asia-Australia stopover flights have not restarted on EK metal, and currently only direct from DXB-Australia. The EK and QF rewards availability to/from Australia is almost non-existent due to high demand and low supply (especially premium cabins), and not expected to change much over the next 6 months.
The stopover flights via SIN, KUL or BKK will most likely only return with B77W aircraft if the 3rd / 4th daily flights come back to MEL/SYD. For the time being it is direct DXB to MEL / SYD (both double daily A380), and BNE/PER (single daily A380).
