Was searching for award space from Abu Dhabi to London next year in April, Oct and Nov. every option was via Doha with Qatar.
Could this indicate the virgin/ etihad partnership is ending?

Yep, true, that could be it.
I just found it interesting because a few months back i traveled one way from AUH-LHR on a ticket i booked through the velocity site.
