Anyone know why we had to wear masks on flight QF43 to Bali yesterday from Sydney when masks not required in arrival on Bali or in the airport? I couldn’t find this requirement anywhere on travel sites. My husband recently flew from Singapore to Bali and not required then 🤔

It’s totally unclear. I can’t find any evidence that it is actually a government requirement. Clearly no mask mandate is being enforced in Bali. Qantas has always had a lot of enthusiasm for enforcing mandates long after they became unnecessary even though they irritate customers.

Sadly, Qantas don’t even tell you about it in advance for QF43. If I was warned before I literally boarded the flight I would’ve booked to go somewhere else.

Certainly over Dec holiday period masks were required ex Aus to Bali (Jetstar) and also on domestic flights within Indonesia (Grauda). Masks were required in Bali airport. In Bali, not much mask wearing, but in Jkt over early January masks required in hotels and shopping centres - even vaccine certificates checked upon entry at big malls such as Plaza Indonesia...

It's not a requirement. I was flying between Aus - Indonesia and domestically in Indonesia in December. I didn't wear a mask once and was never asked to.
