I'm on a fully flex fare - East Coast to Perth in a couple of weeks. Currently gold and will hit platinum with them since switching from Qantas this year.
I requested an Upgrade with points (9000 odd) and it says I am waitlisted.
When I go into book - there are 4 business seats available.
Does anyone know why they waitlist when they have capacity? Im curious to understand how this works and why it wouldn't be confirmed straight away.

Looks like a glitch to me. I would give them a call and hopefully get yourself upgraded over the phone.

Are classic rewards seats available? Then, upgrade should process instantly. Could try withdraw and submit again?
