Any suggestions on using my mobile number in Thailand in a cost effective way that will appear to my customers in Australia that I am at home? I’m with Telstra, so understand the $5/day deal, but wonder if that will give me enough for a normal business day.
I was in thailand for a few months during the year, I had no issues receiving calls or making calls back to australia. From memory its $10 a day with Tesltra. I got an Esim with DTAC in thailand, all the thai carriers offer them as a tourist sim, I used that for data and for local calls.
From memory the $10 a day with Telstra only gave you 500mb of data a day, which is why I used the Esim
I believe Telstra supports calling over WiFi even when overseas.
That means you can get a local eSim, set it up as your default line & put your Telstra line to use WiFi only & it will use the eSim to make & receive calls.
Google around a little & check some forums, they will explain how to do it.

Hello all,
Any suggestions on using my mobile number in Thailand in a cost effective way that will appear to my customers in Australia that I am at home? I’m with Telstra, so understand the $5/day deal, but wonder if that will give me enough for a normal business day.
Appreciate any thoughts.

I buy esim from nomad. I use them all over the world. No issues. Better value than roaming or even a local sim.
