I'm looking to fly out to Guangzhou in May for work and am currently QF Platinum. Struggling to find a good One World option for the trip. Anyone any advice on the best carriers / routes? Also a couple of the return trips I've looked at so far have a ferry for the connecting leg back to HK.. anyone done this option? Thanks for any help available!
I'm pretty sure China Eastern provides QF status credits, even though they are not part of OW. I have flown them twice from BNE.
Other option would be to fly QF to Shanghai or Hong Kong, and fly CX, to maximise SC's or CX all the way (you get half the SC's between Australia to Hong Kong).

Not sure the ferry frequency at the moment. High speed train from Kowloon is easy.
