I'll be as succinct as I can. My partner and I are heading to Thailand in Feb and flying in to Ko Samui via Singapore. Booked on two tickets as Scoot doesn't do mixed class bookings well on its website (Scoot Biz SYD / SIN and economy SIN / USM). About 12 hours in airport at Aerotel (airside).
Has anyone had experience web-checking on Scoot as I really don't want to have to go out and then in again. And if I did, I would have to get a landside motel (can only check in and re-enter airport < 3 hrs before flight)
My hope is that I can webcheck both flights before I leave SYD and have boarding passes before I leave. This is a one way ticket as I am coming home either from Krabi or Phuket. Scoot says web checkin is offered but I remember last time with them I still had to go to checkin counter (cant remember the reason and was a year ago)
The only important piece of information is whether or not you’ll have bags. You might need to pick them up as I don’t think SQ will interline them through to Scoot.
Entering Singapore is a breeze. Fill out the online form and it’s honestly just like walking out of the terminal. It takes ten seconds.
Might be worth getting a landside hotel instead and save the stress. Also you can hear everyone pooping at the aerotel. It’s not very nice.
Thank for that Mjkcan. No bags only carry on. I agree about the Aerotel, have stayed in the past but thought it the easier option. I might look at landside option instead. I can see there are plenty in a very short walk
Having or not having checked bags is vital piece of information. If you do you have no choice. If not I think you can check in even at transfer desk and do not need get out from airport.
Entry into SG is easy so clearing immigration and customs will be a breeze provided you have completed the entry form on the app. The Crowne Plaza is OK but expensive. The night's accom will probably be way more than your Scoot airfare from Singapore to Koh Samui.
As many here have said, my personal recommendation is Crowne Plaza. I have stayed there many times - good quality plus even a gym. You can also enjoy some good meals at Jewel, including Kam's Roast
On the other hand, there is also Yotel Air this is Landside at Jewel and is possibly a cheaper option than Crowne plaza. However, I have not stayed at a Yotel
On another note- the meals in Scoot (even in Business Class) are quite average - you may want to pack something to eat!

Crown plaza by far the best unless you want to be in the City but just for a transit it is very good indeed. have used it on quite a few trips .
