Does anyone use Priority Pass? What's the coverage like, and how exactly does it work? Do they have a separate card for Priority Pass that gets you in all lounges?
I got mine free with my Amex Platinum card, but I'm not sure that I'd purchase one separately...particularly since there're no lounges in New Zealand. The coverage is somewhat spotty, so check out whether your home airport and your frequent destinations are covered here: http://www.prioritypass.com/lounges/
Hi Paul, like 44john I agree that the coverage is key so if you check out the PP website and don't like the coverage its not worth it. However, as I am an independent consultant I think the getting PP via the Amex Platinum Card is good value as Amex can manage all my travel and with the PP I can get into lounges that I normally couldn't. To be frank, if you're a top-tier member of any alliance those lounges are bound to be better than most PP lounges internationally; however I find getting access to Virgin's lounges in Australia quite useful and an enjoyable experience.
I use it a bit. I got it free through my travel agent (Wexas, a UK based business travel organisation).
I find it useful to have the choice, especially if I've got a long wait for a flight - I've had this recently at Washington National and Nice, and on both occasions I thought the lounge was worth paying for!
I just pulled out the Priority Pass welcome letter that I recieved after I got my AMEX Platinum Card (Australian version - Dated 21/09/2010). Quote:
"As an American Express Platinum Card member your membership of Priority Pass and lounge visits are free. You may take accompanying guests into the lounge for a fee of US$27 per person per visit".
Hope this helps

I have one free with my AMEX card, and I use it here in Australia domestically when I need to access Virgin Blue lounges.

According to American Express, a Platinum Card holder is entitled to two free visits a year but must pay $US27 if bringing in a partner.
