I used China eastern out of Melbourne, they use an old B767. Wet leased from Shanghai Airlines. Any news of an up grade of the plane to anything new.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think you will find that durring the great consolidation of Chinese airlines that occured a few years back 'Shanghai Airlines' was one of the airlines that merged to create China Eastern. I flew on a similar bird from SIN - PVD back in June, it was comfortable for the 5 hour leg, but MEL to PVD would be quite tiresome in that plane. According to wikipedia Shanghai currently have no aircraft on order, but China Eastern have massive orders for medium sized aircraft...maybe we can expect to see less and less Shanghai Airlines liveried planes in the sky as China Eastern expand. I share your frustration though, you book China Eastern you expect a China Eastern bird.......my advice, fly another airline, like Singapore, Cathay, or Qantas =)
