Will virgin australia put a similar business product to 737s in the a320s it acquired from skywest? Have seen a repainted one but are these being refitted?

There is only one A320 that Virgin Australia Has, and I see no reason as to why they wouldn't retrofit their new product.

why would they bother designing a new interior product for one aircraft in the fleet? For example, the A320's wider than the 737, and so would need different seats.

they arent refitting the product, the 320 is used on a mostly charter basis and is contracted with its current configuration. the big thing internally about the virgin take over of XR has been "dont fix what aint broken" and they are holding fast to that ethos. in addition the 737 product isnt certified for the 320 in its current form so if there ever was to be a day where its fitted with a J class product it would have to have modifications.
