Travelling with the new Virgin Australia Global Wallet card.
I received my card a couple of weeks ago and decided to start using it as a replacement for my standard Velocity card.
To my horror, the check-in counter over-wrote my original booking's Velocity number with the Global Wallet credit card number [I am flying with Singapore Airlines]
As I have already pass security and immigration, I cannot go back out to get my boarding pass corrected.
For those of you using the new Global Wallet card at the check-in counter, be mindful.
As with any post-flight correction of information involving multiple airlines, I may have to endure alot of on-hold music to sort this out. As this is a long flight (I am typing this from the lounge), the status credit is substantial and I don't want to be rob of it.
I have also written to Velocity about my encounter.
Has anyone else had that problem with this sort of stuff-up with the Global Wallet ?

As in replaced the 10 digit VA number with the 16 digit Visa number and printed it on the boarding pass??? or just hand wrote it.
I would be surprised if the system would accept the 16-digit number.
Certainly it would error out when processed so you should be able to do it manually.

The full 16 digits of the Visa number is printed on both my board passes (2 legs of journey), so far no response from Virgin. I was hoping they can benefit from my encounter and prevent more of this in future for other passengers. Ultimately, it's more work for them.
I am hoping they will contact me before my return flight in a couple of days at Heathrow and verify it on the spot at the SIA counter. I can only dream.
