I'm looking for a one way travel between Auckland/Christchurch and Kuala Lumpur.

I have 2 options:

1) I'm currently an emirates gold. Should i purchase an emirates ticket costing 1.3kNZD in economy and upgrade it to business using my miles? I would be able to earn some status miles if i fly with emirates

2) United is having a 60% extra purchased miles promotion. I'll be able to get a singapore airline ticket for around 1.45k NZD (45k worth of purchased miles) in business. I've checked united website for availability and there are a few biz seats available.

So which option should i go for???
