Traveling with Singapore Airlines as a VA Gold. Will I earn velocity points and SC if I booked through Singapore Airlines on the cheapest fare? My mum booked it for me, how can I add my points in? Also, I am 18 years old, travelling with my mother and brother (16) from OOL - SYD - SIN - KUL then SIN - SYD - OOL. How can I sneak my family into the lounges without anyone noticing?
I am afraid you are out of luck on the points earning as the lowest fare buckets with SQ (N,Q,T,V) are ineligible for points earning. You will have access to the SQ lounges but only with one additional guest. Smiling and politely asking if you can take both your mother and brother into the Krisflyer Gold (at Changi) or Silverkris lounges (international destinations) might do the trick, no guarentees though (normally it all depends if the lounge is at or close to capacity).
For economy it is classes S, Y, B, E, M, H, W, U, L, K. This is a major drawback of the VA/SQ partnership, the fact that the lowest fare classes do not earn any mileage. With their other partners they at least eran between 0.25 and 0.75.
This is common among the big Asian carriers. They're quite stingy with their accrual rates, and both CX and SQ offer zero accrual on their cheapest fare buckets. I had a similar problem on CX when I had the problem of zero accrual on a PEN-HKG-PEN trip.

Yeah I had the same problem on ADL(via MEL)-HKG-KIX and HRT-HKG-ADL missing out on points from about 12,000 miles. :(
