Travel Banking in UAE

Hi I am going shortly to dubai for 2 months to work to determine whether to move there, I will be being paid in AED and I am wondering what people think would be the best way to access my money over there? Should I set up a local account or get the money paid in to my australian account and then put the money onto a travel visa? This would involve having the money converted twice and the fees associated with that. Anyone have any suggestions?

Ask your new co-workers what they do.

If you get paid in AED to your Australian bank account you'll be charged a fee for each deposit, depending on your bank, and your employer might also be charged a fee.

Check on the requirements for opening a bank account in the UAE, for the requirements can be fairly onerous in some countries.
