Has anyone heard about an international airline flying into Canberra early next year?

My bets are on Air New Zealand or AirAsia X.

I am inclined to think that AKL-CBR is more likely.

I have heard a few rumours about Air NZ taking up a daily A320 service to AKL next year. It would make sense to me, I'm sure there would be many passengers that would go through AKL rather than SYD, MEL or BNE not just to New Zealand but to places like SFO, LAX and LHR.

Would of loved this a few years ago but now it's just nice to see.  It could be a good market for AirNZ to gain some higher paying customers.

I personally don't see flights to Canberra from Auckland being very profitable. Virtually zero leisure travellers and business travellers wouldn't be that high either would they? Wouldn't Wellington - Canberra make more sense for those travelling on Government business? Just a thought.
