Is it possible to use a Qantas card as a boarding pass after online check-in?

[QF] Is it possible to use a Q card as a BP after OLCI? I'm just wondering if online check-in disallows the use of the Q card as a boarding pass.

Sure can. Either check-in on your iphone or online, or swipe at the airport on the totem pole, then present your Q-card at the gate and they scan your card and hand you a paper seat allocation receipt, then board. Paper receipt is simply for visual check if verification is needed on the plane.

Thanks - but if I OLCI, do I need to swipe at the pole again or can I proceed straight through security and swipe only at the gate?

It's probably easier just to seat-select and then swipe at the pole only, isn't it?

You can't swipe the pole. If you checkin online, then there is no need to go the pole. Pretty easy. You can keep your pre-seating and just 'touch-on' at the pole when you arrive, do the bag drop, then head for the gate.

Thanks, I ended up doing just that. I wanted to swipe for the lols, because OLCI is too mainstream. (Didn't think I'd say this only a couple years back!)

It's worked well before when availability was >9, but you could always bid just a little more?
