In the Bay of Islands in NZ?
I stayed at Paihia Beach Resort & Spa a couple of times. Great views/location, excellent restaurant on site (although it only opens seasonally, so be prepared for bad takeaway if you're there in winter).

A trip to Cape Reinga along the 90 Mile Beach is well worth it, as well as the overnight house boat "Rock the Boat".
