First Lounge access in Sydney and Dubai for multiple people.
Hi,
I will be travelling on Sunday to LHR from Sydney, via Dubai on QF1, in business class, with my adult brother, as well as my parents who are both platinum. I am under 18, and as such, do I count as a guest, as regards the member + 1 guest policy for platinums in the First Lounge? Normally, access would not be a problem, however, one of my adult friends is travelling on the same flight, and I was wondering whether one of my parents would be able to sponsor her into the lounge as their guest, with my other parent guesting my brother, as well as taking me in as a child. The same question holds for the Dubai First Lounge. Would the rules be slightly more lax in Australia, and stricter in the UAE? Would First Lounge access be possible for all of us.
Many Thanks

If you're 18 you are no longer a child.

Apologies, I read that wrong. You say you're under 18, but I think airlines begin at 16? They seem to when pricing fares.

I think you should be ok in Sydney depending on how old you are. Qantas counts adults as 18. In Emirates/Dubai they count adults as over 17. This page will likely answer all your questions:
qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/lounge-eligibility-access/global/en
I think with 2 Platinum members, chances are you will be ok.

I think you will be fine with First in SYD as your parents are Platinum. However in DXB a different story. You can come as a guest to your brother (in DXB even a child is considered as a Guest) where as in Aust, the Guest is someone above 18.
Best to check with QF or even ring EK as their staff would have more info on Lounge Access at DXB.
