Has anyone had any trouble using Qantas Club complimentary invitation passes at Dubai? I've given one to a friend to use in a few days as it is my understanding that these will be accepted at the business lounge. He has a 2 hour 15minute layover, should this be sufficient to enjoy the lounge? Any advice on transiting Dubai? I've never been there.

The catch is that these invitations have several conditions on the back. My memory is that one condition is that they can only be used at a Qantas Club lounge. There is no Qantas Club lounge in Dubai.

You can only use the Complimentary Passes at QF Operated Lounges. The Lounge in DXB is an Emirates Lounge and only QF Club Members and High-Tier FF's are eligible for Entry if not Traveling in J or F.
BTW - the Concourse A Lounge is supberb... I love the 'boarding from the lounge feature' and the 'spread of food on offer is generous'. Concourse B (the older terminal) is not as grand, but still good.

That is correct Amjid, it must be a Qantas operated lounge to gain access.
We flew back from LHR to SYD recently via DXB in economy and still gained access to the business lounge at DXB as I am a gold FF and loved the boarding from lounge feature also!

Yep, as Phil & Amjid have said, the complimentary passes can only be used at QF operated lounges when flying Qantas or Jet*... with the exception of LAX, where you still can't use the complimentary pass.
