Hi all, I am flying to Hong Kong from via Brisbane (QF508 then QF97). Is there a Qantas First Class lounge in Brisbane International airport? I see you only refer to Melbourne and Sydney on the site but on the Qantas website they also mention Brisbane? If anyone can help and share their experiences that would be great!
Cheers. M

The Qantas "First Class" lounge at BNE is just a separate room off to the side of the Business lounge. The experience doesn't live up to the level of service or atmosphere of the SYD & MEL first class lounges. You'll routinely hear the lounge staff refer to it as the "Platinum lounge."
The only real difference in service between the two lounges are that you may have a lounge attendant offer to get you a meal (this will be the same that's offered in the Business lounge on the serve-yourself buffet tables) and there'll be someone that personally comes around to let you know that flights are boarding.
There are luggage racks to store bags and its generally quieter (depending on what flights are departing) than the Business lounge.

Yes the "First Lounge" in Brisbane is just a minature version of the Q Club/Business lounge. The doorway is on the left of the receptiion counter. It almost feels like your aunty's lounge room with a large LCD TV, couple of couches/seats with a beverage and food bar similar to the Q Club/Bus lounge. It is quieter but can get very crowded due to the size. I recollect people having to stand around in the morning peak due to space issues. Peter's experience is unique because I didnt have the same experience when I used the lounge in December last year on QF8 to connect to QF 7. It should be fine though for a short stop in Bris.

Just to clarify, the "personalised" service I was offered was before departing on the MH evening flight to KUL. Given that I was one of 3 people in the "First" lounge it probably wasn't economical to have a full spread of food set up. This was my most recent visit.
On other occasions (such as when flying QF51), my experience was similar to what BNE00777 mentioned.

Yes I suspect that's how they roll. Would be simple just to wheel in a buffet cart for the morning rush :)

They should really rename BNE/AKL lounges to something like 'Platinum Lounge'
