What's the point of this question? There's only ONE 787 flying in Australia (Jetstar) and ONE 787 into New Zealand (China Southern), among over a dozen airlines with the 787. I doubt anybody has flown every class in every 787 and I don't think anybody is about to choose which airline's 787 to fly based on this comparison. So is there actually a practical point to this question, will any answer be useful in any way? Seems like its just 'aviation fanboy' stuff, really.

By the way I'm from Hong Kong where more nearby airlines have 787 access.
Otherwise, I'd like to say that I would like to try more products in the future and therefore am asking this question.

Yes we know you are from Hong Kong... but you do realise that this is AUSTRALIAN Business traveller? Perhaps, you should speak to David about making a franchise Hong Kong Business Traveller website :-)

So you're planning a series of first class, business class and economy class flights on the Boeing 787 and trying to choose which ones to book in each class, regardless of where the 787 actually flies to and from? LOL!

Pretty sure Air India is flying the 787 into MEL at least, I saw one there the other day.
I agree with your main point though -- these constant questions about "Which airline has the best something-something" are a bit pointless and annoying.

Second that.
I think the target audience of this site is mainly for people who travel for business around Australia who like and have an interest in travel / airlines / hotels etc, not aviation fan boys who ask theoretical questions. Some of these questions seem more at home on buzzfeed than ausbt.

And I love that this site has such a wealth of well travelled users that we could answer a question like this intelligently. I think we are all happy to share our knowledge to help someone have a better trip, choose the right airline, the right lounge, etc. Personally though I won't if its just to satisfy someone's intellectual curiosity.

Well why write anything at all? It's just a question. I like how you can't be bothered to write a relevant response to a question because the nature of the question pains you so much, but you can be bothered to whinge about how the question annoys you, maybe don't write anything, you don't have to respond. You did have to log in and click on the link to write how annoyed you were.

What about Eithad flying into BNE. I flew them in late January and they were pretty good in Business.

In the Business Class section, Qatar and the upcoming Air New Zealand are great products (despite the bed-flipping and herringbone layout which is a peeve for some). There aren't many Premium Economy products on 787s, but Norwegian Air Shuttle's top class (tagged "Premium Economy") has 46" of legroom and Air New Zealand's seat doesn't look bad either. For best Economy Class, that would have to go to JAL and ANA for their 2-4-2 configuration. I always despise airlines when they configurate their aircraft in to a "high-density mode." However, ANA gets special praise for their 33-34" pitch and 18.6" width (wider than some airlines 787 PE product).

However ANA has the "shell" seat design, which is quite uncomfortable on long-haul flights.
