Delta business class Sydney to New York

Decided to go Delta business SYD-NYE for continuity reasons plus side trip MEM. How do you indicate the free stop over I want in L.A. on DELTA website. They don't know. Multi city has much higher price. Also friends, have flown AirNZ business and is excellent. As good as Cathay.

Edit: I can see my mistake now.I had clicked non stop from LA-NY after LA stopover.There fore the much higher prices.Nevertheless I guess the one airline right thru offsets the longer time on LA-NY.
