Best lounge accessible in Sydney and Singapore when flying Club World on British Airways
I'm not very familiar with oneworld's lounge access rules so I thought I'd ask here. In either city are you limited to only the "designated" lounge for British Airways or can you access any oneworld member airline's lounge? Particularly in Singapore where there are multiple oneworld member airlines, which can I choose and which is "best"? I do not have status with oneworld.

In Sydney, you'll only have access to the Qantas International Business lounge.
As for Singapore, you can choose between the BA lounge (though this is currently being refurbished, so you may be directed elsewhere), the Qantas Singapore lounge or the Skyview/Cathay lounge. You definitely want to make a bee line for the Qantas lounge as it's far superior to the other two (at least until we see what BA has in store for its new lounge).

Thanks for your reply! So I won't have access to Malaysia Airlines's lounge in either city?

Technically, you will have access to Malaysia Airlines' lounges in both cities.
However, their Sydney lounge is only open 3-hours prior to each of the flights they operate and closes promptly after their flight boards. The Malaysia Airlines flight that departs around the same time as the British Airways flight leaves approximately 1.5 hours prior to BA's flight, so you'd be kicked out of the lounge if you don't miss it altogether.
Their Singapore lounge operates out of Terminal 3, and I seriously doubt whether one could transfer terminals & back and properly relax in a lounge on such a short layover as British Airways has on this route. It is also a rather mediocre lounge.

Is that correct? The OP does not have OW status. Doesn't that mean they can only use the BA lounge, or the designated alternative where there's no BA lounge at a particular airport?

Also, does anyone know what time the bag drop counters open in both cities?

It should be about three hours before departure in Sydney; check-in opens at 1430 in Singapore for BA, and you can immediately proceed to the Qantas Singapore Lounge which opens at 1430 as well.
Or you could explore T1 first. It's got a nice food court, among other things.
