I have booked using Veolcity points a trip Syd-HK utilising VAtlantic. for July. Anyone have any ideas as to what VAust might do with this booking?
I have rung VAtlantic and whilst they would book me on an alternative flight with another airline immediately VAus Velocity centre (based in the Phillippines) had no idea and said they were still working out what to do.

I suspect you will end up on either QF or CX (given lack of other choices). If you have a preference I would be calling VS and asking for certain flights.

I have rung Virgin Australia's centre and they said they coud not do anything at this stage. and offweed no options Also re routing on SA via Sin not good as I have booked hotels etc for a stopover in HK on my way to Europe and have also booked using China Eastern for that leg. Same on way back via HK.

I believe you will be rebooked on CX based on this thread

VA will probably reroute you via one of their other partners (SIA via SIN I imagine) or offered a full refund of your points.
What options did VS offer? If it was a QF or CX nonstop flight then I'd be calling them back and locking that in before the offer goes away.

Ive heard of a few cases where a Virgin Atlantic points booking flying Upper Class, was reaccomodated on Cathay Economy - thats not a deal I would accept.
In this case I would want my points and taxes back, and rebook myself on a partner.
