My absolute favorite is 747 and 747-8. Pity that among big players only Lufthansa committed themselves to 747-8. And even then rumors say that they will eventually switch to A380. 777 not bad and I like it external proportions. For short hopes A320 win in my eyes over 737 and I dislike (and never liked) 767. I still like to fly A380, but externally it nowhere close to grace of 747. YMMV.
The aircraft I like are the Airbus A380 & the Boeing 787. I was looking foward to flying the China Southern Airbus A380 but it got canceled and downgraded to an Airbus A330 which was disappointing.
Across Australia, the Embraer E170/190: legroom and seat width in abundance.
For longer: in economy, the A330 for its 2/4/2 seating. In business? It's business class. Who cares, just pop in the noise cancelling headphones, grab a drink and relax.
What I really want for long flight is a new Anaesthesia Class. It would be great for pax and for airlines. The pax would be asleep, while the airline can stack the pax in racks.

LOL! And imagine how many they can fit if they use morgue style racks!!!

For external style and proportion - A340
For quiet (short haul) - Avro RJ85 (BAe 146-200)
For internal comfort and space (depending on carrier) - A380
For nostalgia - Lockheed L188 Electra

The Airbus A340-300 is already nostalgic enough for me...even though it's still flying

It all depends on the trip buisiness or pleasure .for buisness I prefer the the A330/A380 for pleasure I prefer the 747 400/800 for the nostalgia .

I find the 777s noisy inside, particularly versus A380.
Short hops am indifferent between the 737 and A320.
Yet to try the 787, but don't mind the A330s, apart from QFs J seats

I have found the 787 noisy inside: seems to be wind noise. Will be interesting to see how the A350 compares, later in the year.

A380 for sure, however will miss the curved/exclusive space in the nose of a 747 when they're gone

Love the F50 and the B77W - both for the delicious sounds their engines make.

Sydney Buses have a bus that makes a really lovely engine noise - the O405NHs.
