Velocity website says: "Silver, Gold and Platinum members earn a Points bonus on miles flown in addition to the base Points^ earned." So the bonus is applied to the Route Mileage (i.e. 1603 * 0.75) , not your 'earned' base points (2405 * 0.75).
Don't be too disappointed. On domestic flights, this can work in your favour. For domestic, base points are calculated from the fare paid (not miles flown) at the rate of 5 points per dollar spent. However, bonus points are calculated based on miles flown x 0.75 which means that on cheap fares, the bonus points can be more than the base points.
I've just checked my own history, and on 3 recent domestic flights where I have status, the added bonus is exactly 50% or 75% of the base (which is calculated on $). Sorry macker, but I'm going to have to agree with 444desiro on this one.

Hi I need some help verifying a Velocity Points calculation
The last flight on my velocity statement says
Base = 2405
Bonus = 1203
Total = 3608
This is for PER-DPS, which is 1603 miles, in Business Saver, for a Gold member (Gold as of mid-December).
I believe it should read:
Base = 2405 (1603 * 1.5 for Business Saver) - this is correct
Bonus = 1804 (2405 * 0.75 for Gold)
Total = 4209
It appears as though I have been given the 50% silver bonus instead of the 75% gold bonus.
I called Velocity and after they checked while I was on hold I was simply told that their calculations are correct.
Can anyone tell me if I am misunderstanding the calculations or if I should pursue this with VA?
Thanks

Ah I did read that but I must have glossed over the words "bonus on miles flown". Slightly disappointing, but it makes sense now. Thanks 444desiro!

I don't think that's correct - on domestic sectors the bonus points are a multiplier of the fare paid, not the miles.
Either that or VA have been giving me way to many bonus points for my flights in the last few years!!
