Fair enough - but just to clarify I'm referring to New Business Class, which replaced the old Spacebed in Raffles Class; not the new business class which is replacing New Business Class.
Confused? I know I was.

What about Qatar Airways, a video posted on youtube by homer3152 about his recent business class experience on the 787 was impressive. The flight was Doha to Frankfurt.

What exactly wrong with SQ? SQ228 + SQ 334 both A380, layover is 2h25min and arrives to Paris at 6:55AM with whole day to spare. Or get SQ238 + SQ 334 – longer rest in Singapore and you can go to swimming pool.

You can also do an overnight ex-MEL to get the morning flight ex-SIN to arrive in the afternoon in CDG, giving the OP time to get to the hotel, set up shop, then pop out for a lovely dinner - and by the time they get back, they should be nice and tired to call it a night.

If you’re not limited to airport and you just want to get to Europe, try Qatar to Brussels.
Departing Melbourne you have a 1.55 hour stop in Doha, which is enough time to experience the Qatar Business lounge (excellent) and the 787 to Brussels.
You will be in Brussels by 1.30pm, plenty of time to travel to Paris / Amsterdam / London or Frankfurt, in addition it’s one of the shortest flight times (23.5 hours).

Definately not the 'best' option. But perhaps the most 'interesting' option could be Air Tahiti Nui via AKL, PPT and LAX. Would add 10 hours or so compared to Asia, but if you have time an overnight stop in Tahiti would be great. You can choose to do the AKL-PPT sector on either the TN a343 or the AIr NZ 763 codeshare.
Depending on travel dates, you may get the new Air Tahiti Nui cabin coming later this year:
