MEL - LAX - LVS. Has anyone got recent experience of this route. Seems as though I will be landing into LAX Tom Bradley terminal, then having to get luggage (from somewhere), before having to make my way to T5 for a Delta hop from LAX - LVS. Hopefully I'll get a chance to stop in the Star Alliance First Lounge for a bit (?). On the way back, sounds like I will land into LAX T5, then have to check luggage into T3, before making my way to Tom Bradley? Can anyone confirm whether this is correct?
As AndrewYes mentions, I assume you mean LAS (Las Vegas, Nevada), rather than LVS (Las Vegas, New Mexico which is not served by Delta or any other airline).
Based on what you have mentioned, I assume you are flying Virgin Australia? Upon arrival at LAX you will clear immigration, collect your bags, then clear customs, before rechecking your bags on to your Delta flight. You will not be able to gain access to the Star Alliance lounge on this leg. On your return flight, yes Virgin Australia use the Star Alliance lounge in TBIT. You may only access the first class area if you are a Velocity Platinum member, otherwise it's the business class side of the lounge for you.
Hmmm...if you fly Virgin America on the US leg you can access the LOFT lounge (and possibly get better service), so...why not? And I think you'll be able to access the LOFT lounge as a VA passenger as well.
Thanks for replies, and apologies for the muddled info I gave you all
Yes, I'll be flying Virgin Australia, with a Platinum FF. So does that mean that I will not have any lounge access for the 4 hour layover in LAX whilst waiting for my flight to LAS (Not LVS). I'm flying Delta out of T5 for the internal hop. Also, when flying Delta, would I get any lounge access in LAX/S?

Why are you flying into LVS? I thought you could only fly into LAS?
