All day check-in trial in Sydney - still in operation?

All day check-in trial in Sydney - still in operation? I'm flying out on QF1 next Saturday and it's convenient for me to check in to the airport in the morning as I have to drop someone off then anyway... I know Qantas was trialling all-day checkin, but the call centre can't tell me anything about it (told me 4 hours was max) and the customer service guy even called someone at the airport who claimed to know nothing. So has the trial come to an end? And if not, if the people at the airport don't know anything about it will I really be able to check in early??

Complete online check-in and see if you can drop your bags early.

First and Business Class check in definitely still on and open all day. Not sure about Economy, though.
