Emerald benefits - QF Platinum booking on CX

I made a booking flying CX the other day on their website. I called in later to their Australian phone number asking to change to another flight. Since my desired flight was full, the lady said she could put me on waitlist. I asked whether my oneworld emerald status would help me get priority waitlisting. She said no.

Out of interest, I just went to the oneworld website, and found that it said:

When your top tier status is equivalent to oneworld Emerald, you are entitled to the following oneworld benefits, no matter which oneworld airline or cabin class you are flying:

- Priority standby and waitlisting

Has anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions who I should call instead? I tried calling the Macro Polo line but couldn't get through without a macro polo number. I doubt Qantas would be able to help me..?

I think the girl that took your call was new and inexperienced ,so call back and explain cause as a one world emerald you are entitled to priorty standby .good luck!!

Call Hong Kong. They seem to know their stuff there. With the Telstra land line plan I have it's actually cheaper to call overseas numbers!
