Qantas get completely mad. They send me email with "special" business to LHR - $9623; Economy to LHR $1909, but I have to buy 2 tickets (companion sale) while premium economy to LHR is $5683. Finnair sells business to LHR for $6245. Yes they use slope seats, but they still far better than PE. Plus you have lounge.
Oh Robert, you've opened a whole can of worms there. My over imaginative imagination is thinking all sorts!
Although on a serious note, it would appear Qantas is trying to copy Virgin's strategy of being alliance agnostic.
How in the world did two middle eastern airlines end up being the pimp of Australian carriers?
Just as our wider economy became reliant on China to the point that we needed American boots in NT and our PM contorting himself to be BFF (Best Friend Forever) with Japan to stop China owning our arses, perhaps it is wise to re-consider the assumed path of least resistance when cavorting with these Gulf carriers.

Isn't this why they reduced status credit earning on oneworld airlines?

Nek minut Serg rages about Finnair switching between fully-flat A330 and angled-flat A340 like ten times :P YMMV
Seriously, though, it sounds like a good proposition - so go for it!

Will do. Although in David's artilce on Korean Airline's new lounge at TBIT, he indicated that the QF TBIT lounge won't be open until May.
But thanks for reminding me Robert. I shall let you know when I'm on the ground.

Malaysian often has biz fares to LHR in the $5-6000 range.
For that "special" Qantas biz-class price you can get First on a SQ A380. I know which I'd choose.
