SIA has announced that its frequent flyers can now earn KrisFlyer Elite Miles (fSIA status credits) on Singapore Airlines codeshare flights operated by Virgin Australia in Australia,. Trans-Tasman and between Australia and the Pacific islands.

SIA defines a Singapore Airlines codeshare flight as a four-digit SQ flight number although the flight is operated by another airline.

Does any know which VA flights are SIA codefshare flights for the purpose of earning SIA Elite Miles? That willl SIA Elite Miles now be earned on all VA fights?

I honestly think you're still better off earning on VA's program. KrisFlyer may be the FFP of the world's best airline, but it's one of the worst FFPs for points and status (barring those who fly frequently in premium cabins on revenue tickets almost exclsuively on SQ metal).

Worlds best airline?  I would like to see that substantiated with evidence.  According to many forums/websites Emirates are first, Qatar second and SIA third, (still not a bad placing), with CX winning best cabin crew.  Some years ago SIA were the leaders by a country mile.  Now the evidence I have found is that they are not and the experiences I have had recently suggest they are amongst the lower ones though that is personal beliefs.  In fact SIA have only won Skytrax award twice since 2001 though are consistent with their top three placements.  I also found their FF scheme stingy so am sticking to OW carriers and moving from QFF to Marco Polo.

I can concede that the idea of the 'world's best airline' is somewhat subjective, but they've never let anyone I know down. CX is an equal, but EK and QR have let many people I know down.

The simple point is that SQ is a very good airline with a terrible FFP. For the OP, if s/he is flying on VA extensively and is Australian, s/he is better off remaining on Velocity as it is nowhere near as stingy.
