Platinum Velocity vs Platinum Qantas Frequent Flyer - decisions.

If you are Platinum on Qantas, and Platinum on Velocity with plans only to fly domestically and comfortably retain both status at end of period (both of which are to be reviewed April 2015),....what are recommendations of airline does one fly?

Is it worth flying majority on Qantas to get PlatinumOne and potentially drop back to Velocity Gold next year?

This is all very subjective, but I personally vote for retaining WP with both airlines and skipping over P1.

If only flying and redeeming domestically, then Virgin is the better program - particularly if you are purchasing the more expensive flexi fares given better points earn, the comp upgrades (very nice on Perth-East Coast flights).

However if you are looking to fly oversesas, redeem on foreign partners, or access the First Lounge, then you lean back to Qantas.

QF is harder to obtain and I believe more valuable.
