CX paid upgrades at the airport ex-Australia. Does anyone know if CX accepts payment at check in for upgrades? I'm booked tomorrow in CX PE and would love to sit up front in Business. Anyone had any success? From looking at dummy bookings, I think seats are still available in Business...
If you're happy to pay you may as well try. They'd be silly to refuse $ if they have availability. It will depend if they have a way to accept payment.
I have heard from a few friends recently that they got an OPUP with CX. Often Y and PE is oversold, those in PE (especially if you have OW status) get an upgrade. One of my friends did not even have status! Check the loads in Y and PE to see what your chances are.
If you're flying to/from PER I've heard of the OPUP happening a fair bit since QFi pulled out of the route due to Y being oversold. Even got lucky enough to score Y-PE on HKG-PER last Nov. :-)

Negative. A counter upgrade if available is the Difference between the PEY and J fares. No cheap ways to do it.
