I am QF gold and regularly have to take a Dragonair flight from HK to Beijing and back.

I just booked some personal travel and the travel agent ( different one from my business travel) said that the QFF/One World extra allowances don't apply to the Dragonair flights??

Any opinions?

I am sure I have checked in two bags before on a Dragonair flight.

We are carrying a bike box with us, hence wanting to confirm the situation before I arrive at the airport.

Isn't the OW extra baggage allowance (1 piece or 20kg extra) only applicable to OW Emeralds not Sapphire?

I used to fly Cathay from  Perth to HKG and the Dragonair to Xiamen, using my QFF Plat/OW Emerald card.  As fr as I can remember all the perks were transfered through to Dragonair flight.   It was at the end of 2012 that I stopped working in China though so there may have been enhancements since then.

It doesn't appear that the extra baggage allowance applies to QFF Gold / Oneworld Sapphire

In the fine print it also mentions benefits apply only when flight is "marketed and operated" by a Oneworld Airline. You're then directed to www.oneworld.com which doesn't list Dragonair as a member.  So I'd suggest woganfan's experience may not necessarily happen for all OW Emeralds and that it would be at CX/Dragonair's discretion (makes sense to give it to him/her when they've just got off a CX flight though).

After all that it looks like a big "No" to extra baggage for QFF Gold!

As far as I understand it the OneWorld status baggage allowances apply to Dragonair in the same way they apply to any other OneWorld partner. But there are no additional OneWorld baggage allowances for QF Gold/OW Sapphire. QF Golds are entitled to extra baggage on QF/EK flights, but not on OneWorld partners. OneWorld Emeralds are entitled to additional baggage on all OneWorld airlines.
