Does anyone know what the protocol is regarding lounge access with an expired card? My new card has arrived home, however, I am currently overseas and it would not arrive in time if it were mailed out to me. My status will be on my boarding pass; hopefully this will suffice but just wondering whether anyone knows of any concrete rules regarding this, or even whether people have had similar encounters? Many thanks

Trevor,
You should be more than fine, just point out to staff what you stated in your comments.Note if you are flying on an airline of which your card is not issued you stand a greater chance of being challenged....May be get a print out showing retained status.

Agreed. trevor, I highly recommend that you print out your summary showing current status retained, preferably with an automatic date stamp on it! If it's QFF on QFi, a quick check of your FF number should be fine, but a printout is a good side arm!

I would also say it depends on which lounge.
eg. BA in LHR tend to be absolute sticklers for the right card, whereas others like CX will automatically print an invite card, but agreed that boarding pass should suffice in most instances.

I have never had this issue at LHR, never been asked for the card anywhere as long as the F/F number is on the boarding card which will include your F/F status.

I've been in this situation several times (at a variety of lounges), and never once have been asked for more than the boarding pass.
