Advice please for my dilemma. I had a flight in f from MAN to SYD vial Dubai in Emirates (QF) ticket. Quant as are now telling me that the flight is only 2 class 1week from departure, Emirates told them 1 month ago. So my options:
Fly in the business cabin and I pay the extra
Leave 7 hrs earlier on an a380 in f but then have 10 hrs in Dubai lounge
Or fly y to London then qf2 to Dubai in f
I am tempted by the 3 rd but pretty upset, again, with quant as.
What's the drama? Fly BA to LHR and connect on to the QF service through to SYD, like the good old days before this Emirates nonsense. The hour or so flight from MAN to LHR in Economy won't kill you. If I recall, the BA lounge in MAN is quite pleasant.
I would go option 3 and go through London. If you go with the first option and leave earlier will you qualify for Dubai Connect? At least then you will get a hotel room and can have a look around Dubai if you want to.
Not sure where the mis-communication came from between Qantas and Emirates but it is very unusual for Qantas to make this kind of error and in particular with a passenger flying in First. I have always had good communication from Qantas whenever it has been necessary but something obviously went wrong here.
Only 10 hrs in Dubai so Dubai connect not worthwhile. Apparently ek had informed QF in early May but QF had omitted to tell me. Initially only given option to pay and downgrade to j, reroute was only offered after 20 minutes of wrangling. Not impressed for f class service.
once this mess is over who should I write to as customer services have always been useless. .? AJ ? Anyone have a contact address?

3rd option seems most palletable to me.

I Sir would do the 3rd you list and reconsider any future flights with these two carriers.

Paying extra for downgrade? Sitting 10 hr in Dubai? I rather fly via London.
