Why is Qantas operating an extra flight QF1113 on the A330 from Sydney to Brisbane tonight?
Is it to do with Origin and if so will it be delayed as there is still 30 hour to go in the game and the flight goes in 26 mins from now

Either flights were cancelled, it is demand driven or it could be a positioning flight that could be operating as a revenue flight. Not likely to State of Origin related.

No idea, but tonight's flight is being flown by VH-EBR.

QF6000 series flights are normally positioning flights. If you look at flightradar dot com now you will see that it is presently midway enroute at 41000 feet. That indicates that it is flying with a very light load. Probably 2 crew and little fuel. Look at qantassource dot com tomorrow and you will probably see that it was a positioning flight.

QF6113 is already on Qantas Source as a SYD-BNE maintenance positioning flight, and yes, it's VH-EBR.
I believe the QF Group A330 maintenance facility is in BNE, so this makes a lot of sense.

No - since QantasLink operations were moved over to the new regional gates at SYD T3, the only Qantas Group operations out of SYD T2 are Jetstar.

It would be close to impossible to watch origin and then fly back to BNE in the same night before the SYDNEY curfew.

Especially so with 30 hours left in the game...
