Has anyone used their Admirals Club membership to access Qantas lounges in Australia? Can you take a guest in on that pass or do they need their own Admirals Club membership? Thanks.

Yes, I have. I successfully gained entry to the SYD and BNE domestic Qantas Clubs, as well as the BNE international Qantas Club. (For the record, I was able to do this while accruing points and status credits on my QF membership.)

I believe you can bring a guest, but I didn't try.

Haha. Funny you should ask. Just bought th 30 day membership. Have done some research. It appears as though you can have two guests or your immediate family. Check the AA website. Also a discussion on Australian frequent flyer.

Thanks all for the follow up. I'm flying in August and may be the only flights I do this year so looks to be the best solution now I have lost all my FF status due to lack of business flights. I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers!

How many flights are you taking, though? Given the 90 Day Membership costs USD 99, I wouldn't say it's worth it for any less than five person-entries domestically.

If it's just a few flights, I'd honestly recommend just sticking to the food court, especially if you're flying QF Domestic out of SYD T3 or MEL T1, as both have extensive F&B options.

With two of us doing the international flights it's worth it for Sydney and LA lounges alone. It's more about being away from the masses as my partner is not the best flyer as opposed to the food / beverages.

In addition we have a couple of US domestic flights - not sure if we can use it for those but we'll give it a go!

Incidentally it's US$ 99 for 30 day membership

Oh yeah, where did I get 90 Days from /facepalm

I guess by the sounds of it, it should work well for you and your partner. If your domestic flights are on AA it should work a charm.

I'm off to Sydney tomorrow and on to Asia on Saturday. Will be giving my AA 30 day pass a go and I'll let you know how I go with bringing two guests with me. I'll let you know ASAP!

Admirals Club are now telling me that I can't get into Qantas lounges on my 1 day pass. They say it's only available to use at Admirals Club lounges and US Airways lounges. This was told to me in an email sent to me on the  12 of Aug 2014 when I enquired about using it at the Qantas lounge in LA when traviling back to Melbourne, because Qantas told me I could not use it in there lounge at LA even though I was flying Qantas . I then askesd the Admirals Club in a reply email if I could use it at the Qantas Club in Melbourne to which I got the same reply to..

Can anyone verify wether this is correct ?

I had no problem in using it last year so I am wondering if it is a brand new policy . When  I used it last year I brought 2 of them as I didnt want to risk myself and my wife not getting in if I only had the 1 pass  as my wife would have been upset waiting for me outside while I was in there having a drink or 2.
