Does anyone rate "travelsims"? Heading to the Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore in two weeks. Need to stay in touch with my clients. I am in th Philippines for a week and will, definitely get a local SIM card. Then have two days in HK and about 12 hours in Singapore. Should I just get a travelsim for those 3 days or should I make the time and just get some local sim cards at SIN and HK airports? Not too concerned about making or receiving calls, just need data. As always, thanks for your input. It's much appreciated!
I'm surprised we haven't seen reviews for travel SIM cards, considering there's plenty of choices out there.
David, would you consider reviewing the myriad choices of travel SIM cards on AusBT? I know we get some great articles on local SIM choices in specific countries, but it'd be good to see some objective opinions on these highly promoted services (I would think the articles would have a lot of value in terms of pageviews!)
(By the way: if it's only 3 days and not looking to make a few calls, consider if the convenience of roaming is worth it. I just roam it if I'm in the country for less than a week, and I procure a local SIM if any longer! If you're with Telstra or Optus consider their roaming packs too. Wifi at Singapore is plentiful, now that you can register for Wireless@SG without a local mobile number.)
They will never be as cheap as a Local SIM, that said they are more convenient (no signing up at the airport), and you can have the same number for a period of time.
But I think given the variety of countries we all travel to there is no one best solution, you need to do the research on the costs (voice and data) for the destinations you are going to and make your own decisions.

Pretty sure we have seen some articles before.

There's been articles (and sponsored content) on AusBT but not reviews.
