Does anyone no when the first QF A330 will be reconfigured. As i understand it from the from the Hickey puppet the first QF A330 is in that process now.But QF say the end of the year before they hit the air.Give me a break as they continue loose customers this should be expedited as SQ and others take it all.Jet Blue in the US and there CEO says it will take them 30 days from start to being back in the air to reconfigure their first cabin..So why do they take so long,is this another QF management failure.

Robert, you should consider proofreading your posts before you put them up ;)
You seem quite disillusioned by QFi and rightfully so. Just vote with your wallet and maybe they'll learn how to manage their business better?

As far back as their original announcement last year (on the J-Class seat upgrade) it was always end of '14 for first aircraft to be in service - so I don't know what this time-lapsed bash is about. In the meantime they have upgraded their HK and Singapore lounges and opend a new one in LA, so hardly sitting on their hands. If you don't like QF then don't fly them - because there are many more of us that do love them and will support them because of the 25,000 Australians they employ - at great cost to the company.

Whip,it takes no where near that time to turn an aircraft.Other airlines do this far faster. They QF say the first aircraft is being done right now ..so why do QF say 2014.Pax will drift to other carriers and it f,s us all.And by the way i am not only loyal to QF but wish to see a change.

Just because you can refit an aircraft quickly doesn't mean QF have too. I'm sure there are financial reasons (Ie. cost of refitting and having several planes out of service) that QF doesn't want to be burdened with at this stage. If you don't like their current A330 offering, try CX - their J class seat/service is heaps better IMO! The market will dictate whether they will be rewarded or punished.

And Robert, it has also been stated that the seat is of a new design and hence needs certain approvals.
For example, JetBlue which announced a very similar seat at about the same time as Qantas, has only just put the first into service.
That said, I do agree that the new product is well overdue and needed quickly.
