Hi everyone, I will be flying return syd-christchurch emirates j In novmeber, does anyone know which lounge they use/ if it's any good? We have quite a long layover at christchurch on our way home (as we are coming in from queenstown prior to our outbound flight)
as per EKs website..seems you have access to the (associated) 'Manaia Lounge'..QF uses the same lounge..(QF.com gives more info about the lounge services than EK.com)...i personally havent used it..so i cant tell you 'if it's any good'...but i'm guessing ANY lounge would be better than buying food/sitting in the general terminal area!! :-)
Yeh it used to be the old Qantas Club in CHC but then was handed over to planebiz (Who handles EK's and QF's ground handling in CHC).
I have only every been in there when it was the old Qantas Club and i think they made the lounge smaller after that date
Do note that EK418 departs CHC at 2:20pm and the Manaia Lounge only open at 1:45pm according to the QF website
I am guessing that the Queenstown flight is operated by an ATR and will arrive in the regional terminal which is really handy for checkin to your EK flight but there is only one lounge in the Regional terminal which is a Koru Express, One Lounge in the Dom Terminal the Koru Club (You can buy entry for $35 and may help if you are in the domestic section) and the Manaia Lounge + NZ Int Lounge in the International Terminal
Thanks for all the pics and info henrus! I think my flight is 1655 departing chc although our prior flight from queenstown arrives at 11:30 so quite a long stopover.. I'm sure it should be fine

That is very true.. Yes I haven't found much info on it that's why I'm a bit skeptical.. As long as there's some nice nz wine I will be happy :)
