On qantas, I know the manifest states seat, passenger name, FF Status (if any), and a abreviated list of special requests. I would doubt the fare class would be on the manifest, however they would have access to look it up at the boarding gate, but not on board........

I've always thought there are FF seats particularly at the back of domestic business on Q. So I reckon they know if you haven't "paid" for your special seat - not just cos you don't know where the table releases from or to put your boarding pass in your jacket.....

Are you suggesting that if they know you're in the full fare business class bucket, you will be treated differently than if you were on a cheaper fare or a reward seat? Personally, I haven't noticed much difference!

Not suggesting that - just that they can be aware. I agree that there isn't a difference in service but that wasn't the question

Maybe someone reading this can simply ask on their next flight. I'm on NZ176 in 2 weeks, so I'll ask if no one else has by then... I'll even ask the first officer if he gets locked out again. :-)

Lol Tronek. Why not ask the copilot where the secret "alternate" entrance to the cockpit is? I wonder if they go through a trap door in the forward lavatory? :D

I know this is an old question now but I asked the cabin supervisor of NZ176 last night. He said he can only tell the difference between an economy ticket that has a meal included and one that doesn't. He can also tell if you're code shared or not, so he knew I was on a VA ticket. And in business he can't tell the difference between a full fare business and a business saver.
