Has anyone flows to DPS in VA business recently? We have rewards tickets booked SYD-DPS in a few weeks and can't seem to find any recent info on catering/onboard plonk. Any insights welcomed!
Also flew MEL - DPS in business recently. Cabin crew were great with a full flight in both J and Y. Meal service was a 3 course affair. Food was actually really good! You can also request anything from Menu should you feel peckish at anytime. Only OJ and Water for PDB, but once in the air, the full bar was open - stayed on the G&T's for the duration of the flight. The tablet IFE was very disappointing so load up your own before leaving. I prefer the 3.40pm departure (Tues, Thurs and Sat), than the 9am daily departure. NZ lounge access is available for this flight.
Watson - you know the 737 isn't great for a flight like this - would much prefer the 330, but it isn't bad. We avoided the red eye back by catching the 4pm (ish) deperature from DPS arriving into MEL about midnight. So if you can catch the daylight/evening flights the 737 is bearable. The VA service is pretty good and if you can get it at good price even better.
Watson, only 1, 3 course meal service (6 hour flight) plus you can have anything from the normal Y menu at anytime. Blankets and pillows were also distributed along with a basic amenity kit.
Done it on the 737 last december and re-booked again in a months time again. Both from Adelaide. The flight over is fine as its a day flight so the recliner is nice. The flight back leaves at 12:30am so its not great. I guess just stay up and drink and the 5 hours goes pretty quickly. :)

I flew on Virgin Austraila from MEL to DPS. It was a good flight, but I hated flying on a 737-800 for 5 plus hours. Fly on Garuda Indonesia instead

Sounds quite manageable, actually! Do you get a full international service with two meals, blanket and pillow and such?

Thanks all, feeback was much appreciated. On a daytime flight so will be following Darkavid99 and Alex and indulging in a few G&Ts.
Cheers!
