As I understand it, Jetstar Asia to Jetstar Asia connections at SIN, which are international-international by default, that have booked on the same PNR are guaranteed connections, with baggage checked through and both boarding passes issued at the originating port, so on arrival at SIN the customer only needs to take their boarding pass and carry-on baggage to the gate for their onward flight, all within T1.
Is this correct?
I'm asking because a family member has 3K 134 (PER-SIN) connecting to 3K 675 (SIN-PEN), and she's quite worried as the connection is just 1h20m.
Yes, that's correct. As long as it's on the same PNR, she should receive her Penang boarding pass upon check-in at Perth and any checked bags will be transferred through automatically.
In the past, SATS did process transfers on behalf of Jetstar and Jetstar Asia at Transfer Counter D but I believe any passengers without their onward boarding pass must now clear immigration and check in for their onward flight.
I flew up once on 2 separate 3K bookings, from PER-SIN then SIN-BKK. Despite the fact they were on 2 different PNRs the person at the desk checked us right through.
Alright, so I was indeed correct and she'll be checked through, which will provide much ease of mind (this relation isn't so familiar with Jetstar, and I couldn't find any SIN-specific language in the Flight Connections guide).
I'll pass along the message, thanks everyone!

They're pretty quick there, I wouldn't worry.
