Does anyone know if QF allow domestic upgrade awards to a passenger travelling with an infant? I might be missing something, but haven't been able to ascertain an answer from the QF website.

Definitely hope not. Terrible prospect.

Oh well. I was kind of hoping for a genuine answer. There are plenty of infants to be seen (and indeed heard) in J cabins. What difference would it make if it were the result of an upgrade? It might be argued that an unruly baby would have a greater impact upon neighbouring Y pax than those in J anyway. It just so happens that the infant in question travels wonderfully. If this weren't the case, the flight would likely not be taken (in either cabin) in the first place...

Are you asking if an infant (btw is it a lap infant or over 2 and paying for a seat?) is present if that hinders the prospects of getting an upgrade, or are you asking if it is possible to upgrade the adult passenger and by default because the infant is young he/she also gets upgraded?

Yes. just a lap - infant. I imagine it would hinder the prospect, but was just wondering if QF policy was to deny it outright.
